I understand that as human beings we have all sorts of temper but that does not simply give us the right to just throw tantrum on someone in public. Understand this, shouting rudely at someone in public does not show that you're superior, it simply shows that you're someone who does not know how to keep his cool. It views more of who you are than the person who did you wrong.
A few weeks before my final exam, I was at a gas station with a very good friend of mine. While waiting in the car, I heard someone shouting so I decided to take a look and check out what was off target (cause penang lang very sipek kehpoh eh). This guy who owns a Mercedes, was shouting at a fellow Bangladesh who was helping him fill his petrol. He was shouting rudely " pukimak you dont understand english please go back to bangla country ok?! pump petrol also cant do properly stupid or what?!". Even after God knows how many times the worker had apologize he kept on shouting at him. In me I was like OMG YOU RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL OLD UNCLE WHO DOES NOT EVEN KNOW HOW TO PUMP YOUR OWN PETROL.
The uncle was embarrass a moment later when he realizes that I was starring at him. (i mean not that kinda stare where you're about to take chai toh to fight people, i not gangster) After a short while he just drove off.
To me I just thought that this could have been handled in a much nicer way. I mean if you are afraid that someone might do something wrong or if you do not trust that person enough then just simply do it yourself. You're not disable or whatsoever and since if you are someone so wealthy who might own a company or does big business how come you're so incapable of filling your own petrol? The fellow Bangladesh is just trying to live his life in peace. He might not have great opportunities like us to go to school or college or whatsoever. Above all that he is already underpaid , at least he did not just gave up on his life or be some beggar on the street who begs for money so that they could get more drugs.
I do not know if this post means anything to anyone but I just want to point out that we should treat everyone nicely despite their race, religion or culture. Who do we think we are to treat someone this way in public? I am sure if someone like the Prime Minister or someone well known who does this will not be respected as well. This is how we call ourselves educated? Show a little mercy and spread some love.
Till then, much love. xx
