I think that it is very essential for women to fathom the importance of encouragement between one another.
I have come to discern that 20 years of my life, women are breaking each other rather than helping other women to grow. Why are we going against each other so much? Why do we hold so much hatred for one another?
We live in the general public where women are still oppressed constantly. "OH women can't be bosses of a company because they think irrationally OR OH women can't be in the politics cause people will not listen to her" For that women fight for women's rights yet women are also the ones trying to beat one another down.
I am pretty sure most of the times us ladies, experience comparison, we tend to talk about other women in the society we hang around in. We talk about their fashions sense, how less pretty that person is compared to another person and when it comes to relationship we compare ourselves to other women even more. Not to mention, there are women who want it all and want others to watch it.
I came by a quote in twitter a few days ago that has 2000 over retweets saying "Boys don't understand the struggle of comparison between girls" When I read this quote the first thing that came to my mind was "why on earth would you want to compare yourself to other people in the first place?" . Which makes my point that, social media plays such a huge role of implanting the thought of why women think they are not good enough.
Is this exactly how we want for one another? To have never ending comparison and to beat each other up just to feel good of ourselves?
Have you ever imaged what it would be like if women were to work together as a community?
I am not saying all comparisons are bad. Approving comparisons such as having the thought that as human beings if someone can juggle both studies and work can gain good results in whatever one is doing and believing you can do the same, is an encouraging act.
Another point that I want to emphasized on is the difference between being envious and being admirable. Somehow most women have the tendency to be jealous over little things such as who has more Prada bags over whom and who's boyfriend is much richer and better looking and who has a better life...................on INSTAGRAM. Above all that, after done being jealous they hate.
As a women myself, I am guilty that I was like that. Frankly, I do not think that it is healthy at all to think about other women in that manner. It is distasteful of us to have to hate on people because they are somewhat better than us.
I hope as women we would be more encouraging to one another.
To love instead of hate.
Till then, much love.
(Trust me even after marriage, women start comparing our kids and husbands)
